I don't know if this is the right place for this post but...

disinfo.net has yanked it's free email service and is charging members to stay on. can anyone recommend a web-based FREE email site that won't get junk mail bombed?

fadetoblack.com will give you a godisdead.com e-mail account. Works pretty well most of the time and you get the pleasure of not being able to e-mail your parents.

I use www.graffiti.net which is free, and totally spam free. It's a good service, though the server is a bit slow at times, meaning you have to wait a minute for a page to load even if yr on a DSL connection.

Aaargh. Just checked and I see you're right. Yet another reason why Disinfo makes my shitlist - they very quickly went from 'cool site!' to 'utter shite!' in my book anyway.

More to the point - how many of us are going to have to change e-mail addresses?

I'm really fucked by all this, because my e-mail for photography purposes is a disinfo.net account, as well as the alternate job e-mail (which our clients can use when our internal e-mail tanks).

Not sure if I should take the $39.95/year plunge...

If one chooses not to pay up, Disinfo will provide free "redirection service" for existing users "for the time being", but after Dec 21 any e-mail previously saved will be deleted by Chek.com (who actually handles Disinfo's e-mail service).

I'm still undecided.

Don't know about spam free, but Email.com are a lot better than hotmail for spam.

Zworg.com is a pretty good free e-mail site. I haven't noticed any spam at all. Of course, I haven't checked that particular account for awhile
