I am turning my attentions back to a regular meditation practice which will include moving meditation in the form of one of the internal arts.
I would like some advice on diet from other longer term practitioners, especially with regards to carbs and meat.
I have found when doing exercise previously - various forms of kung fu and internal arts that a diet made up of heavy foods, red meat and bread, put such a high tax on my digestive system that it would sometimes be impossible to concentrate on certain practices.
Another thing i would find beneficial to sitting based or standing based concentration would be caffine, because of the localisation of feeling in the head area, but when it came to full body meditation i would find it a nuisance in actually allowing me to coordinate forms properly.
I wouldnt mind some feed back on what foods people find useful to meditative practice and practices such as tai chi chuan, i have read several yoga based diets and daoist based diets in the past, but have found it quite difficult to accommodate them fully into my own diet, having grown up on processed foods and sweets, I am currently on a fruit and veg based diet with some fish, but in the past have found this hard to establish as older habits lurk and kick back in.
Any advice on how to change dietary habits would be useful at this point, with particular regards to moving meditation forms. |
