International Fringe Festivals

Alas, there is a relatively small Irish contingent on the Barbelith so this may sink perilously quickly but, in any case, has anyone been attending any of the Fringe's offerings this year? Or would anybody like to profer recommendations/tales of previous Fringe Festivals?

I saw Myrmidons at the Samuel Beckett a little while back (that may not have been Fringe-related however but still worth a look).

I also saw Automatic Bastard at Crawdaddy which was billed as a one-man dance troupe but really ended up being a series of dark monologues with only some dancing. Both the dancing and monologue were quite entertaining, though, an interesting narrative skillfully woven to (I assume) induce pity and disgust in equal measures. The "Automatic Bastard" himself being a charismatic heavily tatoo-ed Canadian who made good use of a very cheap set.

I may go see the absurdist version of Antigone at the International too (sitting well back, of course) in case there's any call for dreaded audience interaction.

Are you interested in discussing the Fringe Festivals in other cities as well, or only the one in Dublin? I could talk a bit about Philadelphia's past shows.

Mmmm Hmmm, yeah absolutely, Gridley. Will moderate abstract appropriately.
