I saw the trailer for this and it appears to be similar to movies like MIRRORMASK and LABYRINTH along with the darker tone found in HEAVENLY CREATURES. I like the way it looks and, considering the subject matter surrounding the fantastical elements, I think this will be in the same vein as Del Toro's THE DEVIL'S BACKBONE - a horror movie about kid's that most people probably wouldn't say is "for" kids.
Personally, I think kids can handle scary movies as well as anybody. |
