Recently every instance of ill judged behaviour on Barbelith seems to get flagged up as a board-wide issue. I think this is something that is worthy of a Policy thread because I'm not sure that the constant linking to other threads in different threads and discussing an issue that's already been discussed in another thread and bringing it over and bringing it up with more people is something that is healthy. However if I started this thread in Policy I would have to link to these instances, which would surely only perpetuate the problem (well it might be a problem. I'm a bit up in the air about it but it seems to make me feel more stressed rather than happier about the results). I think you see the bind I'm in. But I think it's all a bit stressy so erm, am I right to find this a bit grrrggh or am I wrong? Please feel free to tell me why it's good that Barbelith discusses itself with more clarity than a lot of other stuff in the world.

I'd actually favour a more hard-edged board - no more stories about anything *positive* that might have happened a while ago, no more pictures of those animals who'd really cut you up if they had half the chance (following an incident with an ocelot in the Amazon in the 80's I have to get through ten or so tequilas every night of the week, and that's before the morphine - that beast pretty much took one of my earlobes off, at least that was obviously it's intention, thank God I ducked out of the way intime - 'phew' as they say!)

It'll be all right in the end, I suppose. With only reall a couple of exceptions, there's no one I'd send to prison on the board, if I was a high court judge, as opposed to just someone who *pleasures* those guys so, yeah, I think it's all going all right. Basically.

And so I hear from more people off-board, either by PMs or LJ posts or in their blogs about how they are tired with Barbelith, how they are leaving or taking leave of absences and I don't blame them, because it's pretty much that it's only through Barbelith that I can talk to friends that's keeping me here.

I am not blaming anyone because, if I were, then I'd have to include myself or be seen to be a hypocrite, but we've been struggling with people who we feel shouldn't be on the board solidly since Christmas and I feel that energy has continued to warp and malign the board since we kicked off 33. Have we become a board of Rambos rather than a board of Rimbauds?
