Post-War Lebanon: The Israeli Blocade

Since the start of the Israeli-Lebanese war, Israel has held in force a full naval-arial blocade on Lebanon. The Lebanese president has today threatened that if Isralel doesn't withdraw the blocade within 48 hours, Lebanon will "break the blocade with all [their] might." Israel says that the blocade is to prevent Hizbollah from rearming, and will remain in place until UN peacekeepers arrive to prevent additional arms shipments from arriving. What do you all think of this, and how do you predict it will resolve?

Do the Israelis not give a toss about those captured soldiers then? They weren't rescued were they?

They weren't rescued. But I think negotiations are open for a possible exchange of prisoners.

Yes. The situation in respect of these soldiers is EXACTLY THE SAME as it was before Israel started bombing the fuck out of the Lebanon a couple of months ago. Hezbollah still have them, and still won't release them without a release of Israeli prisoners in return. Now they're talking about it, same as they did in 2004. So... anyone else still think the kidnapped soldiers were the reason for the bombings?

Bueller?
