Comics in Amsterdam

Hi, I'm out here in Amsterdam for three weeks and I was windering if by chance anybody knew of any good comic stores out here? This is my first trip to Europe (day 2) so I still have no idea where anything is. Also, do comic books come out on the same day out here?

(apologies if this would be better suited to the conversation, I wasn't sure if this would fit best here or there.)

There's a fantastic one on a quiet street on the way to Leidseplein - Lambiek, on Kerkstraat, between Leidsegracht and Nieuwe Spiegelstraat somewhere. They have a big yellow sign. I believe they're European art agents for all kinds of people like Joe Matt and Seth, and there are comics galore inside. Expensive, though, as all English language literature is in Amsterdam.

Thanks for the tip, but I just got back from tracking that place down and I have an update to my previous request. Does anybody know of any place in Amsterdam that sells SUPERHERO comics? Batman, Superman, etc. The place had plenty of new issues of Following Cerebus, but that wasn't quite what I was looking for. I love European comics, but I'm really just trying to keep up on this month's comics while I'm overseas.

It's been years since I've been to Amsterdam but if it's still there you can try this place: American Discount Book Center. It's on Kalverstraat, which (if memory serves) is off Dam Square.

As I said it's been 15 years or so since I've been there so apologies if it's gone.

I found it! Thanks! Thanks to you both. Now to inject the comics directly into my veins so that I may live.

Thanks again!

Apologies about Lambiek, I remember it having all kinds of comics last time I went there but that was some years ago.

Loved this:
The place had plenty of new issues of Following Cerebus, but that wasn't quite what I was looking for.

A fantastically subtle way of discerning between different comic traditions.
