Has any one here had any positive healing experinces or otherwise using this ?

Most of the trips I see organised seem quite costly and I was planning on perhaps going to Santo Daime church as alternative in the meantime.

On the legal situation: there have been recent developments in the UK by which other online resources may be relatively less affected due to their physical location or relevance to particular units of law enforcement.

On the other hand, the top drug-enforcement official in Vancouver takes a different view:

Vancouver's top drug policy official and B.C. public health physicians believe addicts might be treated by giving them psychedelic drugs, and they hope the city will lead in exploring the controversial approach.

Powerful hallucinogens such as ayahuasca and peyote could offer addicts and other sick people "profound benefits," Donald MacPherson, Drug Policy Co-ordinator for the city of Vancouver, told The Tyee.

MacPherson is co-author of a report published by the city in November that puts ayahuasca and peyote in the category of "benefit," based on their traditional use by indigenous cultures and on documented studies by researchers.

Ayahuasca, an Amazonian, vine-based tea brew, is cited as "non-addictive" and as a "powerful therapeutic tool" used for centuries in Peruvian and Brazilian ceremonial settings. Peyote, the report notes, is "legally administered as a ritualistic sacrament by the members of the Native American Church as an antidote to alcoholism."

The report, titled Preventing Harm from Psychoactive Substance Use, recommends that the city forge ties across all levels of health care and communities and facilitate "exploration, study and application of traditional medicines and rituals and of evidence-based alternative approaches towards the prevention, healing and recovery from problematic substance use."

"Our report is certainly pushing the envelope, but these drugs could have profound therapeutic and spiritual benefits," MacPherson told The Tyee. "We think that demonizing these psychedelic drugs is totally bizarre, and their benefits should be explored."

Thanks , I did read that and have read other accounts , I just dont know at this time which would be considered a good / geuine experince as opposed to one that was tailored for tourists type..

When I said alternative I meant an alternative to travelling to south america..

I tried making ayahuasca myself or brewing it but for some reason it did not work and have not made any attempts since then because of terrible soul loss which I still struggle with from a cubensis ritual i did in 04 - this inspite of assistance..

The santo daime church have tea that has dmt along with monoxidase inhibs of course and seeing as their in holland and its legal there it would be cheaper , closer way of experincing dmt , so thats what i meant..

Oh, God, don't do it yourself. If you don't follow proper procedure, the spiritual forces behind the tea's power, so to speak, may take offense and mawl you alive. Chew you soul and spit it out. The brewing of the ayahausca is a very difficult cerimony, performed only by the most "experienced" or "talented" initiates (this in short, of course, there are many complexities to be taken into consideration). Frankly, you were luck it "didn't work". This is no recreation drug.

It seems that you're implying that if you're brewing it yourself, you must be viewing it as a recreational drug.
I have no personal experience with ayahuasca, but I would think that intent is more important than the specific shamanic qualifications of the one who brews it (barring any major fuck-ups, of course).

You have a good point there. Although it does not necessarily mean one is viewing the tea as recreation drug when one brews it oneself, I'd go as far as to say it is taking a great deal of (possibly unnecessary) risk. Major fuck-ups are not that difficult to happen, you know. The "brewers" engage in a very carefull cerimony working to make sure their intent is pointed to the right direction. It is a hard work to perform, with many many hours of specific chanting, separation of genders, extremely tiring phisical activity, etc. So, for an "untrained" person to attempt to do it by themselves is asking for trouble.

I am myself only a begginer with the tea, having taking it less than a half-dozen times all together, and I'm not knowledgeable of the specifics of the brewing cerimony, but as I said above, at least in the Santo Daime tradition, it is reserved only for the "big guns".

My excessive use of quotation marks is indicative of my lack of knowledge about the proper terminology. I am only a guy who knows very little in actuality, so feel free to doubt my words, of course. But, let me stress this further: Do it yourself at your own freaking risk, man!!!
