I'm feeling basic today.

I heard about this a couple of years ago ...

Heat Vision and Jack

this is classic stuff - Garth Merenghi's Dark Place with Owen Wilson as a talking bike. Jack Black rocks, natch, the action is just the right side of bad. And it only got one episode made baby.

Let's talk about this show, and other shows of its ilk that never got made into series, or maybe one series, and maybe people didn't get to see it but thanks to you tube we can now watch in on t'interwebery glory.

Lookwell was a TV show created by Robert Smigel and Conan O'Brien, starring Adam West as a washed-up, over-the-hill actor who turns to solving mysteries, much to the police force's chagrin.

It's hilarious and brilliant, especially when it comes to West's ridiculous "undercover disguises." This was the pilot which was never picked up.

This is the thing that informed me of YouTube's greatness.

Even though the movie was fantastic, I still wish that Lynch had gotten a chance to do Mulholland Dr. as a TV series. The thought of having a new hour of Lynch material every week is quite enticing, particularly with a cast that features Naomi Watts and Robert Forster. Twin Peaks may have gone downhill in its second season, but that was a very different TV world, in today's TV climate, there would definitely be a space for a weekly dose of Lynchian vision.

Lookwell is amazing! Adam West hasn't been this good since Family Guy. And at no point was he not completely believeable as a washed up actor.

13 Demon Street, a Swedish pre-Twilight Zone twilight zone show, with little intoros each week from Lon Chaney Jr., who's a dude trapped forever at... 13 Demon Street!! for a crime of such horror he never says what it is. only when a more heinous crime comes along will he be freed...

it's got swedish actors so the english is very stilted and the actors very beautiful, and the sets have an abstracted, clinically pop feel to them that makes the creaky plots feel like david lynch or something. very watchable and recommended.

recently released with the old, also unscreened karloff series 'the veil', which is just a load of old toss. get it on play.com for dead cheap by now probably.
