Comic Books Trade Thread

I wanted to carve out a general place folks can post comics for which they're searching and for comics they've got on the trading block. I've searched for something like this, but haven't found anything like we've got over in G&G.

Let me be clear: I'd like this thread to be for trades, exchanges, swaps, etc. Want posts and For Trade posts can go here, and transactions can then take place over PM. To keep us out of messy legal entaglements, why don't we keep money out of it?

I can kick us off by expressing an interest in Eastman and Laird's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Volume 1, Issue 4. I'm interested in collecting the entire continuity rather than the most expensive printings of the comics in this series, so printing number doesn't much matter to me. Please PM me if you have a copy you'd like to trade.

Holla, I'm looking for the Earth X tradepaperback which is hard as to find. If you have it and are willing to trade ask for a comic and I'll see if I have it.

[boss! great idea!]

looking for:
PRIMER #2 (1982, comico)
GRENDEL BLACK & WHITE (1983-84, comico)
GRENDEL: DEVIL'S VAGARY (1987, comico)
GRENDEL #s 19-23 (1988, comico)
SILVERBACK #1-3 (1989, comico)
A1 #4 (1990, atomeka press)

i got a well-sorted collection of comic books running well over 10.000 single issues and 500 trade paperbacks (and still growing) and although i love them all dearly, there's bound to be something to trade in.

Werwolf, from one lupus to another, all the early Matt Wagner's Grendel stuff you're after is due to be published in a single trade next year. Called The Original Grendel, if I remember correctly. It was announced at SDCC.

Devil's Vagary is reprinted in the Black, White and Red collection. The Silverback mini isn't that hard to find, but it's also fairly unremarkable.

To trade:

Human Target, the first Milligan series collected
Grendel BW&R 1-4
Dave Gibbon's The Originals
Kid Eternity, the Vertigo series by Ann Nocenti and Sean Phillips
Orion by Walt Simonson, up to #14 or so
DC vs Marvel trade*

Wanted:
Swamp Thing #171
A couple of Supreme issues, #43 and #48 I think
Some other stuff, I'm sure

* Obviously this is a comic so bad as to only have negative value. It can be exchanged for something equally awful, say a later Spawn trade, or it could be a like-for-like deal eg I send you this, you come round and piss through my letterbox.

Bryan gave me the heads-up on this thread, as I'd already posted in another thread about a load of 'Uncanny X-men' (etc) I'm prepared to part with so I can get hold of a new 4/8 track. Cheers Bryan!

Not quite sure know how to deal practically with the exhanges involved (I have no bank account, Paypal, etc). But if anyone's interested, PM me, if you like, and hopefully we can work something out.

Sorry, didn't read Bryan's opening post. No money involved. But if, say, your old man (or ya Mum, for that matter) used to be in a band and hasn't used that old cassette 4 track for decades, well...

I was just about to come searching for this thread.

At the moment I'm looking for shade, The Changing Man #60, the only issue I'm missing. The only things I can really offer in return are a shedload of Shade or Kid Eternity. issues that I have doubles of.

It's just occured to me that I can offer Milligan's 7 issue mini, Egypt for anyone with Shade #60. Does that grab anyone?

What a great idea. Need to make space and get some new reading so here's my list of books to trade.

Straying slightly here:

I'm trying to finish off my set of Superman II movie cards, my set of Batman (Tim Burton) movie cards, and my set of 1990 Marvel Superhero cards.

Honestly-- break out the tissues, gang, this is sweet-- I'd like to have complete sets for my son. He's really enjoying all the old action figures I dug out recently, and I think in a few years he'd enjoy the trading cards, too.

I have varied superhero-related trading cards from 1980 to, like, 1995 for trade.

Send a message if you have some to offer.

Isn't the fun of trading cards collecting them rather than having a batch given to you? I'm talking in terms of your son's enjoyment. I know that when I collected cards as a kid, it was the collecting that got me excited, the completed collection was just an added bonus.

I think murphy is incredibly aware of this, Boboss.

Yes, there is a treasure hunt kind of thrill to buying pack after packof trading cards until one completes a colection.

But, since I'm talking about cards that are well out of print now, and will be even further out of print in a few years when my son gets them, the thrill of discovery will be a pretty elusive bird.

Plus, there is something to be said for the thrill of getting a complete set of something. Be it comics collected in TPB form, or, better yet, an entire set of single issues, being gifted a collection from soup to nuts is pretty groovy, too.

Hello.

I have a variety of Grant stuff that I would happily trade for some DC-Whitman variants.

Drop a PM for lists.

To whet your appetite, however, what I have available for trade includes:
DARE 1, 3, 4
MARVEL BOY 1-6
some ANIMAL MAN issues

(I also have some Silver Age HULKs, if that's your tipple, as well as a variety of other comics)

somebody just passed on 2 issues of VOGARTH by ben hunt and sonja to me with the words that the series is much sought after by aged ravers and acid-freaks. or so he has heard.

VOGARTH i had heard of before but not that it is worth much. while i find out which issues i really do own now: does anybody know what VOGARTH is worth out there?

(and i don't mean money, not interested, but rather if there really are collectors that would look for issues and how rare these comics are or aren't.)

appreciated.

Well, Vogarth published a four page Neil Gaiman/ Bryan Talbot strip about where Gaiman gets his ideas from...
