some of the internet seem to like david hasselhof.
you may have noticed. they love him for his...well, actually i'm not sure why.
i think it may have a lot to do with a talking car and perhaps his lovely hair.
he also has great teeth and a strong jaw, but i think it's mostly the hair.

anyway.
now they want to give him a gift, the gift of a hit single.

do you want to get hoff to number one?

does this help you make up your mind?
how about this?
or this?

You know, not being one to brag or anything, but I'm pretty certain one of my friends invented the concept of the Hasslehoff of the Week email.

Although recently discontinued I have had, year in and year out, a picture of the Hoff emailed to me pretty much every Friday.

I have many Hoff-tographs. They're all mine!

No, I am firmly of the opinion espoused by a T-shirt I once saw:

"You are NOTHING without your robot car!"

Not loving the Hoff.

Cube, don't hassle the Hoff.

Didn't he bring down the Berlin Wall by singing?

My old man used to phone me every Saturday and keep me posted as to what the Hoff was up to in Baywatch that week.

e.g.

"You'll never guess what he did this week, son."
"Open heart surgery?"
"No, he fought off a Great White Shark with a piece of driftwood."
"The man's a legend, Dad."
"Yep, there's nothing he can't do..."

To be honest, I think the Hoff therefore inadvertantly helped strengthen our Father-Son relationship. Sad as that sounds.

Sorry, toksik, didn't see you'd already made that point.

Why hasn´t anyone posted David´s shot with the puppies yet?

Anyway...

I once posted a video somewhere around here, where he sang while dachshunds were flying around his head. Anyone feel free to find it!

edit:
I found it!

I hate to be so... Barbelith about this, but it seems this kitsch icon, like so many (Frank Bruno, anyway) before him is actually a bit of a shit.

Okay, honestly, that video just shows that he's got a sense of humour and at least some grasp of self-parody, right?

RIGHT?

God I dont know, I thought that it might have been a parody done by someone else, but really its made by the hoff.

but what the hell, I will help the hussel.

So about this mentioned photo with him and the puppies? Post it, yay or nay? Most everyone has seen that photo already anyway, right? Old hat, no? Or post it, maybe, hm?

Hasselhoff is so lame that even his self-parody is lame. Because you know he really means it.

Say all the bad things you want to about him, he'll still always be the best Nick Fury EVER. Unless of course Sammy L. Jackson gets the role in the next one.

With any luck none of you has seen the televised train wreck that is America's Got Talent. It's a Gong Show - American Idol hybrid with Hasselhoff as one of the judges and not one even remotely bearable "talent" act. I don't think an episode goes by in which Hasselhoff does not ONCE AGAIN regurgitate the well worn "don't hassle the Hoff" line. It's hard to say which is more molar-grindingly unwatchable, the talent or the Hoff.

I have not seen the puppies photo Mist, so I vote yay. But that other penis-Hoff one, that is wrong, SO wrong.

I salute you for your daring choice, Olulabelle!

Now if this didn´t bring down the wall...

Maybe I should get a tattoo of this.

Oh my goodness the Hoff is on my telly advertising Pipex. Which is some sort of internet thing I think. But anyway, he's on my telly and he's dancing. I blame this thread.

In an odd coincidence, I met someone named Michael Knight at work today. No KITT, though.

Undertoad, I hoped you hummed the tune repeatedly when meeting or indeed around him. I'm sure he loves that

What was that tune like? When I try to remember it, I only get the theme from Airwolf.

I'll have a go at writing it for you, Mist:

Background: Dag daga-daga-daga-daga-daga daga, Dag daga-daga-daga-daga-daga daga, (drop down two notes), Dag daga-daga-daga-daga-daga daga, Dag daga-daga-daga-daga-daga daga...

Foreground: duh, der-der, derrrr...(up about five notes) . duh, der-der-derrrrr....

What? It was worth a go, right?

Thank you, but I couldn´t trigger the audio memories with that dagger der derring yet. But it´s fun to see this let´s turn audio into onomatopoeia!

Here´s my try at airwolf:

Da! Datatada Datatada Datatada da dada tatata!

*holding sides so they don't split*

Yeah, sorry Mist, I couldn't help myself. You know, sometimes when a new tune pops into my head and I haven't got a guitar to hand, I'll write it down in this fashion on (say) a napkin. Weird thing is, about 70% of the time it actually works, and I remember the tune when I read it. (I also have very little muscical training, so...)

To try and make up for my silliness, here's a YouTube clip of the Knight Rider intro.

Thanks for the link, pw, now I remember and can separate it from airwolf. I have the same problem with Mozart´s kleine Nachtmusik and Luigi Boccherini´s string quintett op.11 (13) no.5, btw.

And you probably can remember the melody you wrote down, because you did it. Otherwise, there have to be better methods of pinning music on paper (my music teacher once was furious, because me and the other guys could not figure out, how to read notes. And when she shouted at us, that "all the girls can do it!", it was no motivation to try harder).

Now my next problem is:
What song had the KR theme as a sample? My neurons will have to do an extra shift on that one.

'Twas Busta Rhymes- the song was Turn It Up(remix)/Fire It Up.
