Well, kids, Labor Day weekend means Dragon*Con and since I'll be there--I am always there--I was wondering if anyone from the surrounding states is going to come. This year we have Adam Baldwin, Alan Tudyk, Summer Glau from Firefly, James Callis and Jamie Bamber from Battlestar Galactica, and hosts of others.

Will any join me in my geekdom?

Despite plans to move south, I'm all the way up on the North Shore (but you should come up to Salem on Halloween if you know what's what!).

I used to work these Cons in High School... nothing like seeing hungover dudes dressed as Data... all pasty and blood-shot yellow eyes, burrito juice down his yellow front.

I did see that Dexter Vines will be there. He's a really nice guy who drew the beautiful Marvel comic Drax the Destroyer. Stop by his table, you'll be happy you did. Also... Bill Sienkiewicz!? You lucky person!

I'm living in Atlanta too and went to Dragon Con for my first time this year. My favorites were the klingon beauty pageant and Anthony Daniels during the "Dawn look-alike" contest. I tried to catch some movies and bought a lot of dice.

My only complaint was the crowd control. It seemed to get worse as the day went on, and was it just me or did the costumes get more detailed and elaborate at night, when everyone was stumbling around from cantina to yule ball?

I saw an amazing Nightcrawler last night. And the Kroenen from Hellboy was well done too.

I got to see George A. Romero and had one thing that, for some reason every year I doubt, but then it is re-affirmed, and it is this:

Lloyd Kaufman is the single coolest human ever to be born on the planet earth. I cannot say enough good things about this guy.

Also, George Lowe is a jackass.
