Dear Barbelith,
Sorry I haven't been around much lately. When I first moved to Florida I had thrown pretty much all my stuff away, including my lame 1980s style computer, and the first thing I bought when I got to Florida was a spiffy little laptop. But I didn't really buy it. I got it from a rent-to-own type place. After figuring out that I could buy several computers by the time I finished up payments on the thing I decided top return it a few months ago (2, 3? I don't remember). So I've been offline for awhile and am typing this from the local library.
I've also given mama Denfeld a break and moved out of her house and got a lil' place of my own, which cost a ton of money (for me anyway, something like $1,300 for deposits and stuff) so I haven't had money for a new computer yet.
I've finally went out a few times, and even made a friend or two. I used to think that north Florida was full of homophobes and racist "get 'er done" types, but I realised that the only people I ever interacted with were co-workers, so maybe just my co-workers were this way, but I found a cool girl to hang out with, and her crew of nerdy boys, who I relate to a lot more than everyone else at work, so I've been hanging out with them a little, doing some social drinking and whatnot.
Poker's been going ok. Now that I'm not playing with all my free time online, and just playing live sessions a few times a week, and not thinking about the game 24 hours a day. I've had a few big winning sessions which have really helped out with all the deposit stuff.
I hope Barbelith is doing well, and that you are holding down the fort. I miss you all, and I'll check in from time to time, until I get a computer again and start spending all my time online again. Take care- Jack Denfeld |
