Based on my exciting weekend described here , and a suggestion by xk, this thread has beenc reated to help save stranded Barbeloids. If your stuck somewhere, without money or lodgings or similar, then put the details here and see who can help.

Personally, still dying for those chips, cheese sandwhiches and strawberry cornettos. Am in Aberystwyth, any help apreciated.

Wow. Barbelith people are so nice! Seriously, the loveliness thread will have to explode soon. Unfortunately I can't get to my account as I don't bring the card with me (my overdraft depresses me so I make sure I can't see it) and all my ID is either in Tamworth or in the pocket of some FILTHY OPORTUNIST SCUM! I wonder if people would be quite so nice if they found out how I lost the money?

The money got lost after I had drank two bottle of wine, an archers and lemonade and a beer. I sang on Karaoke and had a generally swell time. Unfortunately, I fell asleep on the cliffs between Aber and my campsite, and when I woke up the bag, and my stomach contents, where missing.

Ok so the other option would be if you locate a pizza/delivery food shop get their take out phone number and a Barbeloid in the UK can call the number and order you a pizza/take out thingy. Pick up would probably work nicely.

No Blackberries here. I've been trying to live off the land since last night. For dinner I had dandelion leaves seasoned with rosemary and Tabasco sauce. I managed one and then decided to sleep instead. All the blackberries I've found haven't gone ripe yet. But if there are any UK Barbeloids out there wiling to pay for a vegetarian pizza I'm very willing to go find a number.

I'm sorry to hear of your current misfortune. Have you considered going to a homeless shelter and/or soup kitchen? You could get a meal there, while waiting for your friends to come through with some funds.

If I had my trumpet, my guitar, my bodhran or a voice then I would busk. As it is I have stomach percussion and Regina Spektor songs. I don't actually think there is a homeless shelter in Aberystwyth. Though it a good idea. My friend should finish work soo so I will wait to ehar news on the cheese sandwhich.

Okay well at least you have the possibility of a cheese sammich in the near future.

I however do think we should set up some sort of emergency Barbelith food pantry.
I've used the ol' call in a pizza delivery for my friends in other US states before and would be happy to do it for any starving person. I'd rather go without my weekly bartab than have someone go hungry in this world when I can take direct action.

I suspect we just need a few strategically placed people willing to call in for 'zza and the like (under 20$). As a communtiy we can then make sure no one's generousity is being abused.

With the invention of the interweb there are some food places that take online orders but most require local phone numbers which can be an issue.

Also if no one person wants to float the charge, perhaps we can agree to raise the cash in small donations and one person volunteers to send the 'zza and gets the donations?

I think the problem in the UK might be more that pizza deliveries, I think almost wothout exception, will require payment in cash upon delivery. Then again, technology may have passed me by.
