This has been out for about a month and a half, and no thread? Shame on you, Barbelith...

True story: in 1899, Mark Twain and Nikola Tesla decided to end war forever. With Twain¹s connections and Tesla¹s inventions, they went into business, selling world peace. So what happened?

Only now can the tale be told-- in which Twain and Tesla collided with Edison and Morgan, an evil science cabal merging the Black Arts and the Industrial Age. Turn of the century New York City sets the stage for a titanic battle over the very fate of the mankind.

I just bought and read it this weekend. Totally brilliant fun. Between this and Cassanova, Matt Fraction is quickly becoming my favorite new American comics writer. The art design of the foreword and character biographies was a nice touch as well. I saved reading the bios until after I had finished the book and I found them truly hilarious, especially the Carnegie one.

I actually didn't know much about Tesla until reading this, but now I'm fascinated by the man. In an interview I heard with Fraction, he mentioned that upon Tesla's death the U.S. Department of Defense confiscated all his lab notes and materials and have kept them secret until this day. Could he have built a steampunk osmotic super-weapon? Only Donald Rumsfield knows.

I like how the comic doesn't steal its name from this.
