It was designed as the ultimate cold war weapon: a top-secret U.S. Air Force, Army and CIA-funded flying saucer that would skim the edge of space at Mach 3 speeds.
The Avorcar might sound like something straight out of the X-Files, but it didn't come from outer space. It came from Canada.
The joint Canadian-U.S. saucer program is detailed in a new book by historian Bill Zuk, of Winnepeg, Manitoba, who wants to repatriate the two remaining discs held by the United States back to Canada.
