I'm just starting to listen to Pafuera telarañas - even though it is far from new....Im not finger on the pulse guy here, but I couldn't find any other threads on them - after having my socks blown off by "Malo" - have a look.

So I'm not sure I have much to say with any depth atm, but that video is certainly full of passion, which I'm not sure is shared by the rest of the album unfortunately, but malo is probably worth it all by itself. I don't know how much of a barrier the language makes, and there is a curiously one-sided music exchange between english speaking and non-english speaking cultures, so I wonder if digging the energy I'm raving about really requires one to understand roughly what she is screaming about. Thoughts?

I don't think so - my Spanish is very limited and so was my understanding of the lyrics (i.e. I got some of the chorus, not much more). But the energy is very evident in the video - and I think the vocal (which strikes me as extremely expressive) also - you get a definite sense of the feel of the song from those even without comprehending the lyrics.

This is really quite good, you know. I dunno....maybe the whole feminist, green, socialist woman screaming a protest at an abusive partner is a bit old, but I thought that there was something quite stirring about it. Its my official ear worm for the month, anyway.

Maybe a rough and ready translation of some of the lyrics would help?
