Ah, is this some hilarious joke thread? Oh wait, it's not. Oh dear.

Sweetie, everyone on Barbelith who is interested is already on TMO. Go 'way.

Oh dear me. Here I go speaking for everyone again. Sorry about that. (yes really.)

If we locked and deleted joke threads for not being hilarious, Our Lady, the Conversation would be a graveyard. Moderation request disagreed.

Huh, that's what you think.

So this is a joke thread then?

TMO is one ugly looking site. The page is just so busy, it's difficult to read all of the insightful contributions.

Light-hearted certainly. Seems utterly harmless to me and not worthy of this kind of reaction.

Do we have to have this argument about the remit of Conversation mods, again?

As far as I can tell, TMO is suffering from ruptures in its core user base, and needs fresh blood to avoid succumbing to entropy. As mentioned, some members of Barbelith are already on TMO. Others might get something out of it - it's a lot more tolerant of certain behaviours than Barbelith is. If anyone feels a gap in their online lives, it might be worth checking out.

Now, who will be our first TMO/Barbelith crossover baby?

Flyboy Does Dirt If we locked and deleted joke threads for not being hilarious, Our Lady, the Conversation would be a graveyard. Moderation request disagreed.

Smoothly Weaving Do we have to have this argument about the remit of Conversation mods, again?

In fact, what actually happened was that I commented in the thread about this being a joke, then asked for it to be locked and deleted because it looked like it was spam for another site.

Perhaps you should have looked a bit harder.

No harm intended. I was just a little leery of following the links, because it looked rather spammy. Kudos to Monsieur Nobody for the effective adspeak.

I'll stick Nprime as my back-up board. Although Nprime is probably not to most 'Lither tastes (unless you groove on arguing rules clarifications for a relatively obscure role-playing game).

Well, yeah - it is pretty clearly spam for another site. On the other hand, it's not trying to get money out of people or selling a product... depends how you define what's acceptable or not, really.

I wasn’t thinking about your post, Evil S, more entity’s Go ‘way and Flowers’ lock and delete request.

On the latter, I didn’t see the proposal itself, and took from the first reply and Flyboy’s comment that the reason given had something to do with it not being very funny (ie. moderating for quality).
Was spam the stated reason?

Think of it more as a invitation dressed up to look like spam, but actually it's just an invitation.

That's almost exactly the line I use at the end of a first date.

So, Johnny - so far you've talked about joining Barbelith on TMO and talked about joining TMO on Barbelith. You can tell us. Is this a fetish thing?

You're lucky you have to actively dress it up to look like spam.

(Can people take further moderation discussion to the Policy, pls ok thnx bye?)

Look at David Tennent in those glasses. Anything can be cool now flyboy, anything. Trust me, D&D will be back in by Christmas and soon they'll be showing live dungeonquests for prizes* instead of Big Brother.

*yes exactly like Knightmare

(continuing the rot)

role-playing gamers are the new beatniks.

I think we always were - I spent my teenage years of role-playing with a generous beard, wearing corduroy trousers, staying up all night drinking black coffee and listening to folk music, and even occasionally calling people daddio-o.

I was just considering logging in again actually, as TMO seems to be dipping its toes into Barbelith this week. It helps that I have found myself agreeing wholeheartedly with all Flyboy's posts about Aisleyne. And you have tipped the balance, Ganesh ~ thanks.

On the other hand, I think all the comics I used to comment on have ceased publication.

Come on, wonderstarr, I bet you're gonna have SOMETHING to say when GM's Batman kicks in. And I'm looking forward to reading it (your comments, nearly as much as the comic).
