Hello all. I thought {and I hope} some of you might find this interesting:

Writer, journo, Blank Generation survivor and founding member of Blondie Gary Lachman will be giving a talk entitled "Forget the Gurus: What 30 years of the occult has taught me" @ Sussex Arts Club on thursday 13th July from 7.30 until 1 am.

Then there's a bit of a party to celebrate the launch of the night and there'll be three live acts on hand to provide a suitably sinistrial soundtrack: Grizzly Giant, Bela Emerson and The Mekano Set. Plus D.J. Gurdjieff Buckley.

More info:

Grizzly Giant.

The Mekano Set.

Bela Emerson.

D.J. Gurdjieff Buckley.

Anyone fancy it?

Have joy,

RK

I'll be there with knobs on. I was reading the Garden of Hermetic Dreams recently and like it a lot, and the Arts Club is always good.

Yay!

It starts at 7.30. Mr L is on first. And the musick won't be scary at all: Bela Emerson makes lovely live sampley type things with her cello and effects. Grizzly Giant are a lot of fun with their post-rock grooves and manic poetry. D.J. Gurdjieff Buckley will be playing all manner of feel-good tunes. The Mekano Set are harmless too.

Someone wants to come only for the talk but not dancing, is that still £6.50?

Does anyone have any suggestions for guest speakers that might be interested in taking part in future events of this kind - in Brighton and London?

Paul Hughes-Barlow for a start as he's already involved. I'd go to a talk on Tarot by him, his book Tarot and the Magus is pretty interesting.

Groovy. Not sure who will be speaking next but I've been told there's going to be more in Brighton and London village as well.

Hmmm... picnic?
