Read all about it. Listen to it. Then talk about it here.

What an amazing chorus. It would be a surefire no. 1 if only someone would actually dare to release it, and give it a bit of radio.

Hell, even if not. Look what happened with the JCB song. Also tipped by tours truly right here in these hallowed pages. So check it out, and forward it about, and lobby the bugger to release it. Donate, even. If we all PayPal him 1.99 he'll have more than enough.

If it isn't obvious, I really love this song.

thanks for link, YH$WH. I read about this song in Q, with Jarvis sayin it would take forever to come out... good to hear it... I don't know how much airplay it could get, what with 'cunts' bein part of the title/chorus...

verse is same chords as 'werewolves of london' BTW, dontcha know...

I am gonna listen to this a lot, I can see- maybe come back an post again when I have fully absorbed it. but nice to see jarvis puttin stuff out there again...

Listening to it now... sounds like Copey at his most misanthropic- always a good thing to aim for. Liking it so far. Nice one, Jarv.

That is indeed great. Cheers, YH$WH.

If it does take 'forever' to come out though, that might be a good thing - it's hard to imagine a more appropriate theme song for the 2012 Olympics.

Not to be outdone, Rolf Harris has also released his own, er, beautiful polemic.

Slaughter on the Ice

But that's threadrot. Let's stick with Jarvis.

It's, uh, forthright. And quite deserved, too, in my humble opinion.

I don't personally mind him using "cunt" as a swearword - particularly as he's using it in a very value-neutral way, putting it on a par with, say, "dick" - did that strike anyone as terribly offensive?

Er, what was the "Live 8 debacle?"

Clarifying: I know what "Live 8" was, and that several people thought it was a bit limp, but I'm not sure what Cocker's getting at here. The ineffectiveness of all that rock n' roll posturing?

The general perception - correct me if I'm wrong - is that Live 8 was effective only in extracting promises from the G8, while tangible aid has been lacking. Coupled with a view of Geldof &co. using the event to maintain their position, which I feel is uncharitable; I don't much like Geldof, but his heart seems to be in the right place.

Yes, I thought Live 8 was well-intentioned but ultimately a bit pointless. I seem to remember at least one of the big names afterwards saying it would have made more sense to have actually used it to raise money, rather than awareness among people who probably weren't actually going to make good on their promises, but I don't remember who.

Has anyone listened to the album yet? Apart from 'Running the World' it failed to grab me on first listen, it sounded like a collection of bland 'We Love Life' b-sides, without Candida's keyboards. Maybe it'll grow on me with repeated listens.
