Hi, am new and nervous about posting thread that is mildly 'pluggy'. But, teeth gritted, as I am not in the show, and I genuinely believe it will be an excellent two nights, I was wondering if anyone in the industry would like to come along to an actors' showcase at The Poor School - Wed, Thurs evening this week.

Hi, V, don't take this the wrong way, but this thread's natural home would seem to be elsewhere.

I thought is wasn't quite the thing for Gatherings, as it wasn't social..sorry guys. Just joined, and have been ultra busy so have not spent enough time getting to know the site. Will pull socks up.

Well, to be honest this might do as well in Film, TV and Theatre, especially if it's aimed at an industry audience.

So- tell us a bit more about this, v. What's the plan? I assume that it's a show to exhibit graduates of the poor school to directors and producers in London, right? Are there limitations on the audience - do you need to be credentialled to get in? What might one expect to see? Also, when is it - is there a link you could give us to a page on the Poor School web site?

Credentialled? Hm, I think that if you were a director, producer, casting director, etc etc.. I mean, it wouldn't really be worth your time otherwise. But we certainly don't check up on you.. but now you are making me worried.. you don't harbour a hatred of drama school students, do you?

It's a 80 min show - you'd see duologues and monologues from 30 students, and one song I think! Yes, they are second year graduating students, and it is a particularly good show this time round. Again, I am not in it myself, but I do think they deserve an audience, and to be signed up (although some already have agents)

The Poor School has a strong reputation for producing actors who don't faff about. If you hire them, we get down to the job, produce solid, genuine work both in tv and theatre. I mean, most of the PS graduates that you might recognise are off the telly, but that's really just because more people watch tv than go to the theatre.

Anyhow, there's the usual refreshments and all that jazz, and you get to meet the cast afterwards. If you are interested or know anyone who might be, drop me a line as I need to put you on the guest list. Not open to general public, I am afraid.

Oh, and it's this week Wed and Thurs, 7 for 7.30pm.

Thanks, VC. I'll bounce this to Film, TV and Theatre.

I'm very very far away from this (in NYC), but as a fellow actor, wanted to wish you broken legs and all that. Cheers! Hope it yields excellent results.
