Stuck in the factory this afternoon. Clothes sticking to skin. I've just burned myself on a hot steam pipe and am starting to look like a bit of a twat with a large welt across my forehead. Not exactly a textbook afternoon.

It starts raining, gently at first then getting stronger and harder and faster. Hailstones the size of peas, followed by lightning so close I can't count to work out the distance. Whooo hooooo!

I sally forth to the smoke shelter, spark up a Marlboro Light and stand, awestruck for around an hour, as the storm picks up its pace and the lightning goes off all around every few seconds.

I look inside the factory to see water pouring down in sheets from holes in the roof, drenching an electrical panel and producing a large cracking sound, followed by a cloud of smoke.

Machines become sluggish, then stop. And still the lightning is hammering down.

It was cool. Stopped a dull afternoon turning into a dull evening. And even took my mind off the throb in my forehead.

Anyone else see the epic electricals this afternoon? |
