starting at the British Museum

Teh Plough it is then!

Ticker
18:05 / 07.07.06
yay!

and poopy:
"Unfortunately the bog body Lindow Man is not on public display while these galleries are closed."

Gypsy Lantern
19:57 / 09.07.06
That "The George" pub sign is deeply worrying.

ghadis
07:19 / 10.07.06
It is. Also Geoffrey being a Pot Man for a fraction of the minimum wage is very sad.

Gypsy Lantern
08:07 / 10.07.06
Geoffrey deals pot now?

SteppersFan
10:15 / 10.07.06
I might be in London that day / night, if so I'll pop in.

Quantum
18:54 / 10.07.06
George has been dealing for years- why do you think that Hungry Hungry Hippos game came about? Munchies, dude.

Gypsy Lantern
13:54 / 13.07.06
I thought you were talking about smack addiction for a moment. The idea that "Hungry, Hungry Hippos" was intended to be a Naked Lunch-type metaphor for the hunger of heroin withdrawal - created by some deranged junkie toy maker trying to come to terms with his problem - almost disturbs me as much as that pub sign.

Ticker
14:12 / 14.07.06
Lovely folk, what time are we meeting at the Plough?

illmatic
14:59 / 14.07.06
Disappointed I won't be there. If you do take my homunculus make sure to fill the bottle with lager every Friday night.

Quantum
15:42 / 14.07.06
I will be relatively early as I'm remembering the last time* and getting into London before the rush3hours. I may be skimming Gosh comics beforehand but I'll be Ploughing from six or seven I reckon. I'll PM you my number xk, and try to remember to bring those handsome old documents for you.

*an hour to get from Waterloo to the Plough on top of the normal Rail delays, Grrr

Ticker
17:27 / 14.07.06
It maybe for the best, Illmatic. We'd just end up talking about Reich and then playing British Bulldog in the pub and having way too much fun acquiring bruises.

Though I'd best get that lager requiring homunculus for certain now. In return I shall exhange a suitable item of dubious nature.

Ticker
17:32 / 14.07.06
Quantum I can't imagine anything more delightful than meeting you.

Okay, perhaps only poppies that open up to reveal tiny half kitten half bumblee bee creatures that sing Tom Waits songs in high pitched voices and make lewd suggestions to the barmaids. But only just.

I can probably be at The Plough around 7pm but might be a little bit late as it's my first day using a new database.

I've written this in my diary!

Ticker
02:28 / 20.07.06
yay for Anna!

Ticker
14:08 / 26.07.06
Okay once again With Feeling, what time at the Plough?
My Swiss hostess is going to be appearing sometime around 6:30 pm and I'm not sure if I should have her meet me there or if that's too early and I should take her to a nearby schmancy Indian restaurant...

I'm going to bug you again in PM land Quantum, I have an early mission idea.

Regrettable Juvenilia
14:14 / 26.07.06
I picked the wrong month to quit drinking. 7pm is good for me though.

Gypsy Lantern
14:37 / 26.07.06
I'll be there around 6:30ish I should think, maybe even a bit earlier.

ghadis
14:38 / 26.07.06
Any month is a bad idea to quit drinking Fly. Unless you combine it with the National Amputate Hands and Sow Up Mouth Month. Which, this year, is August so thats when i'm quitting.

Luckily this is the 31st of July so bring it on.

I'm planning on spending the afternoon in the British Museum doing some work (if i can cope with the feelings of rage, frustration and despair that place often leaves me with) so i'll be along Ploughwise late afternoon.

Smoothly
14:43 / 26.07.06
I hope to drop by for a couple around 7.

Ticker
18:58 / 26.07.06
ghadis, I shall be stalking the halls of the BM in the early afternoon. If you spot a short blonde in pink, it ain't me. I'll be the tall-ish bespectacled brunette in black and tattoos.

I believe Quantum and I have managed to sort out an occult bookstore power crawl to fill up the later afternoon...though we're still figuring out when exactly.

Watkins, Treadwells, and Atlantis before falling into the Plough. I'll see if we can't aim for 6ish, Gypsy.

Ticker
14:32 / 27.07.06
Ok I'm unplugging myself. Hopefully I'll see Seth on Sunday, and then the London folk on Monday. I'm very excited to meet you!

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK
12:49 / 29.07.06
I should be there around 6-ish, I reckon.

Saturn's nod
07:38 / 30.07.06
No promises but I and maybe another Cambridge 'Lither or two too might get there. (Maybe the 17:15 to K's X, then walk?)

ghadis
11:50 / 30.07.06
Yea, that would do you ok Saturn. About a 20min walk from Kings X i'd say. Straight down Grays Inn Rd then right along Theobalds Rd and you're there.

sleazenation
20:56 / 30.07.06
It's an easy walk- you could take the tube if you are feeling lazy - it is only 2 stops... but depending on how familiar you are with london and getting around it...

gingerbop
21:27 / 30.07.06
May see you around 7.

Tryphena Absent
22:30 / 30.07.06
There are buses from Kings X to the area as well, the 73, 390 or 10 stop just around the corner from the museum. They go from the stops across the street from the station.

Saturn's nod
08:46 / 31.07.06
Thanks for the travel hints. Hope to see you later, will probably walk from King's Cross so maybe there 7ish. I'm a tall woman, today wearing a long pink dress, with dark hair in a bun. Please do wave at me if you see someone answering that description and looking uncertain in the Plough this eve as I don't think I know what any of you look like.

The Strobe
09:35 / 31.07.06
I'll be there. I might be going for dinner first, but I'll definitely be there...

Happy Dave Has Left
09:53 / 31.07.06
I'm coming, but I will be in dorky work clothes, for which I ask forgiveness.

Pleasure to meet you lot this evening - I've been 'Lithed and I loved it!

That was so hott right now.

I'm thinking really big London barbemeet (megameet) in September. I've missed the cheery big love.

23:04 / 31.07.06
That was indeed good fun - just wish I'd had more of a chance to talk to more people...
