I'm moving house tomorrow

No more carpet beetles, no more shitty chemistry-boy dickhead next door, tra-la-la...no more shit on the shower curtain...my goshy gosh, I'm glad to be moving tomorrow.

Got a fair few books and CDs to carry, but they'll be reet. Bad news is I might not be on here so much depending on whether I can get the net working there, or if I'll need to use the library computers.

Is anyone else moving out anytime soon?

Shit on the shower curtain? No wonder you're moving out!

It was a long and woeful tale.

I'm in awe of your enthusiasm for moving house. I love the 'being in the new house' bit, but getting from old house to new house is usually a draining, soul destroying descent into hell. And that's before you even go through the process of cleaning the old place until it shines like it never did before you moved into it. But maybe that's just me...

So, what's the new place like then? Apart from not having shit on shower curtain.

With TT on the whole moving house mularky. It drains. Packing it all, cleaning, driving the van to the new place, unpacking it all, finding out the gas has been disconnected etc. Grr.

Btw LR - how are you going to fit the footie in~?

Congratulations for finally getting a real home, Leba!

Make some photos from your new windows, so we can make assumptions about your new neighboorhood!

I'm in awe of your enthusiasm for moving house.

Be fair, dude - poo on the shower curtain. If I had had to deal with that, I might even emerge from my current hiding place underneath an upturned bathtub, trying to wriggle my way to safety as the headcrabs sing around me.

OH GOD OH GOD OH GOD

Congratulations on leaving your domestic hell, Legba. Do you know the people you're moving in with?

Tabitha- it's top. Terraced house with other people who are sort of like me but not just like me because I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

Jub- I'm not going to fit the footie in. I dislike football, but not proactively. I was always more of a trampoline person (incidentally, is trampoline a spread made by elephants when they walk on someone?).

Misto- Ever seen a British TV show called Coronation Street?

Haus- I've met three out of the four and they were very nice, openly friendly etc. I'm sure the fourth one will also be nice, and that the whole gang will be fine, but my deal means I'm not reliant on them in any way, just in case they're not nice. There's no reason to think they won't be nice though.

There is a gnome in the garden of the house.

I might have, but I´m not sure. Is it like that Eaton place series? Most of these british sitcoms bored my socks off, I only liked the one with the country vet and the two crazy brothers Siegfried and Tristan (Later I even read the book).

I once read, Morrissey was a fan of that show, but even that would not get me to watch it. Is it a suburb with all those rows of english houses?

Coronation street as sitcom...it works, too, I think. It has a subtle comedy.

Rows of houses yes, but it's not suburban...well, I suppose it is. Working class suburb though. It's also near where the cinema used to be where Anthony Burgess used to go with his mates as a kid in the old days and read out the words on the screen for them.

Pre-gnomed? Indeed, that is a home to envy. I look forward to the already suggested view from a window shots. I live in a terrace, in a row of terraces, although in East Enders (I'm thinking that might be one word, but I'm really not sure) rather than Corrie country. I think terraces are great - very comfy but with more character than many more modern mass-built homes. Both inside and out. Sounds like you're going to be very well accommodated!

Indeed, the gnome is splendiferous. There's a sort of conservatory dining room as well, and a kitchen and a living room. Gosh gosh. And presumably a working chair that isn't approx. 1 foot higher than the keyboard like the one I'm sitting on now. Ouch.

I really am very excited.

Are you going to take a little sliver of poo with you? For old times sake, like?

Those gnomes are evil fuckers, Legba. Be careful whenever you're alone in the house in the dark. Especially if you hear tiny footsteps climbing the stairs towards you. Glad you're away from the faecally inopportune soul vampires you've been putting up with.

You still going to be taking your early morning canalside walks?

Bad break-up with a gnome MacXoc?

He broke my heart, the little bastard. I don't want to talk about it. Did you ever see Don't Look Now?

Boboss- nay!

Xoc- oh, I'll watch him. He's been neutered though so he shouldn't be a problem.

Canalside walks are going to be harder these days, but on the other hand there'll be a bunch of new places to go and explore.

moving is hell - being moved is fab-o and you get to decide all over again, 'now, where does this go...? hmmm....' and takes weeks!

happy home, legba. may your shower curtain remain excrement-free and your windows bring fresh air. when shall we all pop round for tea?

Hope everything goes well with your move Legba. As to anyone else, um, yes - me, tomorrow. How peculiar. Currently sitting with all books and things boxed up stressing about if it will all fit. But I really should get some sleep if I'm going to be lugging things up three flights of stairs tomorrow evening.

Well, off I go. Luckily I've got a week before I'm turfed out of the old place so I'm taking a bag of books down twice today and moving stuff steadily across. Also allows to gradually put things in place. Oh wow. Oh wow...
