I went to the RCA Summer Show in London last Friday and wrote it up on my site. It was a pretty astonishing experience and I saw a hell of a lot of cool and interesting things including a bespoke avatar of your friends that wakes up when they come online:
A machine to recast the outer casing of phones in a eutactic metal that melts around the temperature of warm tea:
A device that pits three plants against one another and kills the two that don't grow fastest:
And sock puppets with which you can sing along to jazz:
In fact these are just some of the most amusing things that I saw there and there are many more interesting objets across automotive design, textiles, drawing, animation, interaction design etc. etc.
Has anyone else been to the event yet? It's just down by the Albert Memorial and it's free to enter. It's only on until this coming Sunday. If you do go, which bits did you like most? |
