I am looking for top hats and it doesn't matter how trashed they are. Am willing to pay small cash money for them. If you have one or know a shop what does, then let me know.

I also want happy bird feathers. Happy bird feathers are feathers that have come from happy birds with good lives.

Belle, I collect happy crow feathers from my local black chicken neighbors. The extended family is quite healthy and I have a good number of collected long black feathers I could mail ya. Not sure how many you need?

I find them while walking around the island loop.

Sadly, can't help with feathers, regardless of their emotional state, but I am on the lookout for: A BOAT, suitable for small river/canal transport, about punt-sized or similar. Condi£tion irrelevant, willing to spend up to £50 or equivalent in other forms of currency (hard labour &c.)

The "vintage" clothes-shop (in my day we just called them 2nd hand) down the road from me is selling a top hat. If you want I can find out how much for.

There was a costume shop in Camden Market where I bought my last one... um.. 4 years ago. I don't know if it's still there, but they sold new ones for about 30 pounds each.

Phyrephox, yes please, could you?

xk, you live in America don't you? I collect crow feathers here, are Amercian crows different to English ones?

Belle, I think our crows are the same.

I also have a goose farm up the street I could ask for feathers. The birds are very happy and beloved of the neighborhood. The goslings were too damn cute for words.

I'm looking for a leather biker jacket- I don't want to buy any new leather, and mine is finally falling apart (helped along somewhat by pointy canine teeth, as well as having been worn constantly for about the last fifteen years). How could I start a Jet Rock'n'Roll band without one?

I will do so tomorrow (probably, some time this week anyway) Belle o' Ze Barb.
Coincidentally I might be able to help you out as well Stoatie. I may have a leather biker jacket in storage at my parents house. It is extremely distressed though, so may not be in that much better nick than yours.

Hey, even a distressed one will extend the shelf life of mine slightly.

Belle,
I should add the geese are pets at the farm.

Geese! yes geese, that would be fabulous. Could you ask if they'd let you have a few? Big long ones are best.

Ooooh, thank you.

I have a leather jacket, but it is very tiny. It will fit a very tiny person. I know this because the only reason I would ever sell it is that it is too small for me. (It's a 36, and my shoulders have apparently grown.) It is a very very nice jacket though— Hein Gericke for Harley Davidson. I have loved it very much while I could fit into it.

I'm not huge (and am fairly skinny) but I'm reasonably tall. Thanks, though.

entity, I'm very very tiny and have been looking for some nice jackets. I'll let you know how tiny once I get my hands on a tape measure. Cool?

I like this thread.

It's the Barbecycle.

Sure. (The 36 is in American sizing, I believe.)

Here are some pics of a similar jacket. Mine is in much better shape— it's solid black, there's no fading, and all the zippers work great. Just a little discoloration on the lining, a scuff on the back, and a pinhole on the front where someone put a badge or something. I paid $130 for it used and considered it a bargain, and I've treated it well since then. I wish I knew how much that one at Room 125 went for for comparison.

Belle, I have happy bird feathers aplenty! My wee parrot pal sheds old feathers no less than four times a year to make way for new ones. They are too pretty to throw away so I sneak away some of the larger, more colourful discards. (If she catches me picking one up she shows me it belongs on the ground by pulling it out of my hand and tossing it down again meaningfully. Repeat until stupid human catches on.) I'd be quite happy to send feathers your way! They are very colourful with lots of greens, blues and reds and, most importantly, from a very happy and well-loved critter.

Oh, yes PLEASE. You are my hero.

What kind of parrot have you got? I've got a Sun Conure. I'm not suprised your parrot throws her feathers down, they're very clever, aren't they?

Er, I think I am in danger of thread rotting my own thread by obsessing about parrots. Will PM you!

Belle: I went to the shop today and they wanted an obscene amount of money for it (£80!) which given your use of the phrase "small cash money" would seem excessive. Sorry.

Belle, Gypsy (she was already named when I met her) is a Maroon Bellied Conure, so just a bit smaller than your Sun Conure, and not quite as colourful but just as much cutie, kooky, fun!

(apologies for unabashed threadrot)

I have a biker jacket, Stoats - from a real live biker. It's very short on me, so might fit you. Um... apart from that, I don't know from bikers' jackets. It's black and made of leather. I'm up your way on Saturday, so could drop it off somewhere, possibly. PM me if you want it...

Oh, and since I'll be around, could you get Morning Bride to do an acoustic set or something?

I can offer cockatiel and parakeet feathers, the former sorbet-yellow barred with grey and the latter mainly black but iridiscent green at the edge.

They both seem happy, though the parakeet has removed his flight feathers from one wing and so isn't able to fly. Unfortunately he doesn't know this and occasionally hurls himself into the air only hit the deck with a thump and squawk. He's not a bright bird but always cheerful. Well, moody but often cheerful.

I am so excited to hear there appear to be lots of bird people here on Barbelith. Perhaps I should start a bird thread which everyone else can ingnore and where we can all gas about birds to our hearts content.

WFTD, your feathers are also extremely welcome. Your description was funny and I know you know this but FTR, I mean happily treated birds rather than personally happy, because we all have our off days.

I'd love a bird thread, though I don't know if I qualify as "bird people" just yet. I do have questions I'd like to ask, though. Was it you, Belle, who had the parrot that was on the bird flu thread?

Anyway, and I probably should have asked this before I made my offer, what do you need the feathers for? Are you building your own bird, like an avian Frankenstein? Or are you a prisoner in a high tower making a set of waxen wings? If so, I have some useful advice about proximity to the sun.
