Story: http://thescotsman.scotsman.com/scitech.cfm?id=912322006
I'd like to send the discussion off in three directions:
1) anyone grok the science behind this? the article's a bit thin. Will a lot of power be generated? Do new roads need to be built or can existing roads be adapted? How costly would the scheme be to implememnt all over the place? Can you do it at home using "sticky-backed plastic and used washing up liquid bottles"?
2) what are peoples' views on this, in sociological, political and science-fictional terms
3) anyone else find sheep this inspiring?
Let discussion commence.
(ps if the aims of this thread are going against what's been talked about in the lab meta-thread, I apologise, I've not read through that one yet) |
