I haven't done one of these in a while. Any hints or tips as to what comes up in them? I know nothing of mathematical formulae anymore so those would also be of worth. Assumably it will be based around mathematical, numeracy, spatial and correct/quick data entry skills.

Hmm, sounds like a bastard. Good luck with it. I'm sure yuo'll do okay.

Ah thanks, Legba. Will be fine, I'm sure, unless I subconsciously sabotage it for myself* because I really hate bank work.
*This isn't an unwelcome thought.

I don't think psychometric tests are the kind of thing you can (or need) to revise for.
I don't really know what aptitude tests are. Didn't have them in my day.

I'm remedially bad at maths, so the kind of formulas I keep in my head as ready-reckoners are things like x% of y is the same as y% of x.

(See, I don't even think in "=")

I know the theory is that you can't prepare for this kind of aptidude testing, but I had an experience that made me think that you can. I was applying for the graduate recruit program for the public service, and they put us through two types of computerised testing. The first was testing verbal and reasoning skills, and the second was one of those annoying tests where you have to work out the pattern and select which stupid little diagram is next in line. The computer crashed as I reached the end of the second test, and so I had to come back about a month later and do it again. My girlfriend just happened to have a book full of these stupid little diagrams, so just before the re-test I did every problem and looked up the answers. I don't know how I scored the first time around, but I do know that it was so much easier the second time around, because I had a much better idea of what to look for. So if you think you'll have any of that kind of testing (I think they are called non-verbal reasoning tests), I highly recommend practicing!

Finished up about half twelve was pretty easy. Just verbal, mathematical and clerical. No spatial reasoning (thank the gods), not that I don't have an aptitude for it just that I'm more likely to get frustrated with those type of questions and tick something randomly rather than give them a considered look.
