Cheers for the new thread Quantum.
The hexagram came to me one night after a DJ associate and I shared a rather event filled evening of strange phoenomenom. Weird lights, rushes and such like (no, the drugs weren't responsible). As I went to bed I decided to visualise a select few runes to banish and protect, and was drawn to completing a hexagram in my minds eye. I drew this down for the next day's inspection.
The following morning I realised, as Quantum mentions, that the majority of the Anglo Saxon Futhark could be represented with this one symbol. I have since gone on to explore the extended hatched or spider pattern, through various cultures, but that is another tale.
Shortly after this experience I was pathworking with a medium, exploring facets of my consciousness (this includes the 'other than') and found my cavern dwelling archetypes sat around in a six pointed fashion. Hmm, curious I thought.
I decided to actively engage synchronicities along this trail and at one convention, where I was performing readings and advice, came across a rather idiosyncratic eastern monk selling brass geometric shapes. During our chat he responded to my reference of the hexagram by pointing out that it resembles a wire frame cube. Clunk, of course, why hadn't I seen this myself. The monk then went on to offer one for purchase, but was unable to locate it at the time. Penniless I returned to my stall to continue the days metadrama for cash.
At the end of this metawhoring experience I returned with my takings that, upon inspection of his price chart, exactly matched that of the brass cube. But again the monk was unable to locate said item. He promised that he would be successul and I having sensed his urgency at concluding a sale, would duly return.
During his search I received some healing from my neighbouring stall holder (for free, which was nice) and during this became engulfed with the visualisation of a rotating cube in my chest cavity emitting a brilliant light and strong sense of energy. Never one to turn down a spontaneous happenstance without adding it to my reportoire of tricks, I constructed a mental note. 'Would come in handy in the future'
Finally I returned to the monk and exchanged my illgotten gain for said brass ornament.
This wire frame cube became the centre of my practice for many years, with the hexagram used to fix my magical workings. Further pathworking led me to sit upon a stone throne amid a roaring fire within a hexagram marked out in my cave network. It was never toconsciously comprehend all this in detail and terminology, but then I always work from my intuitive/kinesthetic sense in these matters.
The hexagram became my talisman, occupying many logos and flyer designs for esoteric fuelled events and projects. Some of which were posted on this very forum a few years back.
I've not consciously (not associating the 'other than' this time) working in such a fashion anymore, but the hexagram still lingers. Cropping up every once and a while for the everso slight wink to the camera. |
