This much I know: a british Modernist, associate of Crowley and the Golden Dawn, pantheist who returned to the Christain fold and habitual drug user who died as a result of 'complications' years later.

She's ace. "Mappa Mundi", one of her short stories, is about people lost in shadows and a buried city of Isis extant beneath the streets of Paris. Naturally Iain Sinclair is a massive fan and "Downriver" even kicks off with a quote from her childhood memoir, "The Crystal Cabinet".

Anyhoo, I want desperately to write about her for my imminent 'modernism' paper (Monday..uugghhh..) and was wondering if any of you charmers could point me twards' some good online resources?
Much obliged.

Dear Mick, though I know precious little about Mary Butts, a quick scan of the interweb found this site. It appears to be quite comprehensive with Links to other (Crowley obv.) sources of information about her.

Hope this helps.
