This much I know: a british Modernist, associate of Crowley and the Golden Dawn, pantheist who returned to the Christain fold and habitual drug user who died as a result of 'complications' years later.
She's ace. "Mappa Mundi", one of her short stories, is about people lost in shadows and a buried city of Isis extant beneath the streets of Paris. Naturally Iain Sinclair is a massive fan and "Downriver" even kicks off with a quote from her childhood memoir, "The Crystal Cabinet".
Anyhoo, I want desperately to write about her for my imminent 'modernism' paper (Monday..uugghhh..) and was wondering if any of you charmers could point me twards' some good online resources?
Much obliged. |
