| Basically we were beign gently hammered as usual by the Googlebot and Yahoo Slurp, but then this was compounded by some fucker out in the wild deciding that he needed a full archive of every single fucking page on Barbelith, which he decided to pull down at the rate of over ten pages a second, resulting in everything going haywire. This then fucked up the MySQL database, meaning that even once we'd blocked him the board still wasn't working properly. Then I had a long dialogue with Pair - our hosts - and discovered that one table in the database had become corrupted. And then I decided to work out how to fix it, so taught myself a little MySQL and ran a repair process on it, and now everything seems to be back to normal, which is quite good, but a bit of a surprise, frankly.
