Now that the first (and probably only) season is done, I can say that that Blade TV series turned out to be quite a guilty pleasure. After a bland and unengaging dog of a pilot, it improved pretty dramatically, especially due to some clever plotting that mostly avoided monster-of-the-week TV pitfalls. It was missing the humour of the movies, but retained the same kind of ludicrous machismo...
(But no love for the third film? Even for Parker Posey delivering high-camp lines around fangs that were obviously too big for her mouth?) |
