I think there was--a very very long time ago--a thread dedicated to cooking. And I have decided that we need a thread about cooking. Specifically, what you cook. What I cook. What anyone cooks. And to start off, here's my recipe for a lovely basic salad that I made for dinner last night.
2 large handfuls mixed baby greens (mizuna, radicchio, frisee)
1/4 cup toasted pine nuts
1/4 cup shaved Piave or Parmesan cheese
1/4 lb. prosciutto sliced into thin strips
1/4 cup sun-dried tomatoes in olive chopped
Arrange first three ingredients over greens in medium size bowl. Toss to incorporate. Scatter chopped tomatoes with their oil over salad. Use a nice balsamic vinegar--it will blend with the oil from the tomatoes--to taste. Voila!!
makes enough for two people.
