chaos and hyperspace - what's new?

I just wanted to have some advice on who to read about these two topics
I read Gleick's 'chaos' about 10 years ago. And the book is about 15 years old, so I bet there had to be some advancements in math and I would like to know who could I refer to.

Also I read Michio Kaku's 'Hyperspace' 2 years ago, and I'd like some reference about all that Quantum theory/hyperdimensional cosmology thing.

What's the new fad in physics? It seems all of a sudden everybody talks Biology or other than that Nanotech. But I was wondering about the breakthrough stuff. Who's worth reading these days?

New fads have been slow coming. Although research is progressing on both superstring and chaos.

Try twistor theory if you want a decent opponent to superstring.

Here's how to discover new fads in physics.

Get a red piece of paper and in green ink write "Terhkad".

Then goto a big bookstore with a physics section and just look at the titles of the physics books. The topic covered the most is the fad.

Last time i've done this, the fad was synchronicity. Yes! Really! Synchronicity is now a big topic in physics.

Oh, and the paper thing was joke.
