So yeah, my girl and I are moving to LA in 2 weeks. No, I don't have a job there yet. Yes I do have contacts out there and have 6yrs experience in television. Yes I will have a place to live. No I won't know anyone else out there.

The questions are:
Any Barbe folk out there to pal arround / go drinking with?
Any one else made a big move like this lately?
And what is the possibly most fun / dumb thing you've done?
What have you done that's over the top for love lately?

Within 24 hours, my entire life plan was changed based on a non-guaranteed job offer to work in France. The plan was to go get my Master's, then move to the States for my PhD, with a year's break between the two.
Now, I'm not going to get my Master's. Rather, I'm going to France in 13 months. I made the decision in 24 hours, too. Crazy.

Well, good luck in LA. If you see or work with George Clooney, give him a high five for me.

I've made the decision to quit my life in London and head out to Spain. I'm in the weird no-man's land between having decided to do it, and doing it. I figure if I write my resignation letter, then I can stop worrying about that and just get on with worrying about everything else.

I spent 6 months in Spain last year, so it's not totally unknown, but this time I will need a job, and the ones that I've been applying for would mean a 50% paycut at least.

I've been in my current workplace for about 10 years now, and while it's nice and friendly and comparitively well paid, it's time for that move. I'm single with no responsibilities, and my parents are in good health, so the time is now.

I'm also telling everyone that I'm doing it, so that I can't chicken out. A friend who has just emigrated to Sweden said "Once the decision is made, alll the rest is just logistics". He did have a job to go to and his partner for company though.
