I've made the decision to quit my life in London and head out to Spain. I'm in the weird no-man's land between having decided to do it, and doing it. I figure if I write my resignation letter, then I can stop worrying about that and just get on with worrying about everything else.
I spent 6 months in Spain last year, so it's not totally unknown, but this time I will need a job, and the ones that I've been applying for would mean a 50% paycut at least.
I've been in my current workplace for about 10 years now, and while it's nice and friendly and comparitively well paid, it's time for that move. I'm single with no responsibilities, and my parents are in good health, so the time is now.
I'm also telling everyone that I'm doing it, so that I can't chicken out. A friend who has just emigrated to Sweden said "Once the decision is made, alll the rest is just logistics". He did have a job to go to and his partner for company though. |
