But if you have ordinary curtains then you can sense the light, however dim. There is a beautiful alarm for deaf people which flashes a light on and off. It starts off with brief gentle low level light and progressively the light stays on for longer and more brightly. It shows the human body reacts positively to light and 'wakes up'.
Funny you should mention the light/lack of light thing, Lula.
I just moved into my basement room for the summer. The room is, for all intents and purposes, a bunker. There are no windows. There is a bathroom. And a big closet. And currently a fridge (the one I use at university). But no natural light can enter.
And I sleep WEIRDLY. Not as refreshed as when I'm at univeristy, but for longer periods, and with a tendency to just roll over and go back to sleep.
Then again, I also don't work a 9-5 job. My typical day is probably 11-9, or 9-7, or 12-10, or what have you. Or, occasionally, if my boss is an ass, 5pm-10pm. Don't ask.
My job is just like university. Only longer. |
