Searching Barbelith

OK, this is probably a pretty stupid question...

How does one search for threads containing a particular term (not in the title or abstract, but in the thread itself) on Barbelith? I see people talking about using Google to do it, but my ignorance of the capabilities of Google is clearly showing, since i have no idea how to use Google to search just Barbelith (and also thought Google didn't "see" content of bulletin boards)...

Also, is it possible to search for all the posts of a particular poster (either one's own, or those of a poster whose interests, knowledge or opinions one finds particularly interesting)?

Yeah, this has come up a few times. There's a page in the Wiki about it. We do sort of have a replacement search function but I don't know what's happening with that.

Just to make this more accessible, you can use google to search just barbelith by typing "site:barbelith.com" (without quotes) into the search bar as well as your keywords. Note there's no space between the colon and barbelith.com. It far surpasses the search function at this time.

Dear old Jub always recommends this.
I recommend it too.

"There was an immeasurable distance between the quick and the dead: they did not seem to belong to the same species; and it was strange to think that but a little while before they had spoken and moved and eaten and laughed."

Ha. Ah well, Jub, at least I did mention you as the usual profferer.

For me this search function works better than the google barbelith one.

Thanks everyone. id entity's solution seems to be the one that works for me...

Stupid question #2 (well, more of an opinion question i guess): if i search for a term, and the most recent thread about it appears to be from, say, 2 years ago, is it general Barbe-policy to resurrect it or start a new one?

We usually resurrect.
