This might parallel the mind control threads, and it might not.
Found it while browsing the "what's new" section of erowid.org.

Carbogen gas.

The basics

Apparently, it also made psychotic patients temporarily sane.

Essentially, it's a mixture of carbon dioxide and oxygen. The oxygen levels are high enough for it to be perfectly breathable... but your body doesn't register that. Apparently, the way you know you're getting out of breath has to do with rising levels of carbon dioxide.

If you want to make someone think they're dying, let 'em breathe CO2.
quote:Patients frequently felt that they were dying and reported moving up a tunnel and seeing a bright light. Many of Atkinson's patients also experienced the same kind of permanent changes in personality that accompany traditional near-death experiences. Although Morse claims that Atkinson was so successful that both he and his colleagues believed their therapy should be made available as an inexpensive alternative to psychotherapy, it never was accepted by the medical community at large.

I read at the bottom of a document on the web that symptoms brought on by kundalini awakening were similair to 'Aspartame Poisoning',and you have to stop drinking pepsi and coke for at least 60 days for a complete recovery!

It's interesting also to note that it has been suggested that the rhythm patterns of christian hymns are such that they increase the CO2 conc in the body by extending exhalation and reducing inhalation, giving rise to a similar effect of hallucinatory experience - combine this with the extensive use of primary colours in stained glass in churchs, cold temperatures (picture all this back 'days of olde') along with poor diet/health etc etc.....no wonder they were all having 'visions' left, right and centre....

I've just realizedf that I should have no difficulty, other than expenses, in getting medical grade oxigen and carbon dioxide tanks. Well, maybe some difficulty but not a lot. This might be a good experience studying the death trip.
