So I mentioned in the I've got it on repeat... thread that I've had this album on repeat for a good couple days now, but I accidentally described it as electro rather than DNB.
I don't know a lot about DNB, really, but I thought I'd give you all the chance to hear some Pendulum and tell me what you think, and if you've got any, suggestions for things which are similar/as good but different.
To that end, here are some tracks which I think are standouts amongst a very impressive crowd (the prelude is just there because it's kind of cool, and flows nicely into the first real track). Enjoy, then discuss!
1 - Prelude
2 - Slam
8 - Tarantula
As a side note, I originally decided to buy this album after hearing the title track on the radio. Hold Your Colour starts out a much softer track, almost like it's going into ballad territory (with, like, a piano!), but then opens up with some lovely drums and wobbling synths which I love. It's still a much softer track than the two you've got here, and I think it's probably my least favourite on the album. But it's still really good.
I think you should buy this album, probably immediately. |
