Hello people of Barbelith- a slightly drunken post to celebrate 1000 posts. I have very little to say except i've enjoyed my time here so far. Although largely confined to the music forum i thought i'd spill into conversation to celebrate.

Late shifters what are you drinking? We're currently on champagne mojitos the easy to to drink cocktail of choice.
*** Recipe***

2 ounces White Rum
ounce Lime Juice
1 teaspoon Sugar
6 whole Mint Leaf
2 ounces Champagne
Put juice and sugar into a highball glass and stir until dissolved. Rub mint leaves on inside of the glass and discard. Fill with crushed ice and rum, stir. Top with Champagne (or sparkling wine) and garnish with a sprig of mint.

The stereo is playing a selection of northern soul... currently Gloria Jones 'Tainted Love'

I recently got drunk (happens about once a year for me, since I don´t like hangocvers much) on 2 white russians and 3 glasses of red wine. Oh my, time flew buy! Next time, only wine for me.

The Icebreaker

60ml mandarin-flavoured vodka
60ml fresh apple juice
60ml cranberry juice
Ice cubes
1 sprig fresh mint
1 slice of green apple

Comnbine the vodka and fruit juices in a large glass filled with ice cubes. Garnish with the mint sprig and apple slice.

...It always amazes me that I've been on Barbelith for 3 years and I haven't passed 800 posts yet.

Yet I've been on The Engine since its inception about 5 or 6 months ago and I'm one of the top 10 posters there (I think I ranked as 5th highest poster in March...go figure), with over 600 posts.

Always just amazes me. I have no real drink mixes, though my personal preference is for a bottle of Lipton Real Brew Ice Tea and a shot of amaretto, or for a bottle of that Starbucks Iced Mocha drink with a shot of dark chocolate liqeur. That or soda water and raspberry vodka. I'm a simple guy when it comes to drinks.

The partys been draging on quite some time now- at the moment things aren't looking great- Mistoffelees has just thrown up a curdled mixture of white russians all over the carpet- i've been handed a snakebite and black to drink (half pint lager, half pint scrumpy cider and a shot of blackcurrent) as the spirits and champagne are in short supply and the DJ has just put on Come on Eileen (again).

This party needs fresh blood- with tunes and a stash of records...
