Where do you get your Hinterland?

I'm sticking this in Convo because I'd like a quick turnaround then it can (Mike Wazowski from Monsters Inc) just blow away....

Did you buy my critically-acclaimed and moistness-inducing debut novel, Hinterland, published a year ago by Immanion Press? If so, can you either post here as to where you bought it (bookshop, amazon, other online retailer etc etc) or PM me if you'd rather not admit to purchasing it in public.

Just trying to get a handle on where stuff's selling and where it's not.

Cheers.

I had it specially ordered from Waterstones. My local bookshop, Chapters, couldn't get a proper copy of it, only a print-to-order jobby (I imagined that wouldn't have been nicely bound with the proper cover and whatnot - am I correct?)

So, anyway - what's the deal with novels 2 and 3, and did anything come out of your agent talking to that production company about making a TV show of Hinterland?

Think it was Amazon.

I haven´t bought it yet. I´m always buying books, and then I´m not reading them. I could slow this down a bit by putting books on my amazon wishlist, instead of buying them instantly.

This doesn´t work all the time though. Yesterday I was in a kiosk and saw and immeditately bought Wächter des Tages, the second novel by Sergej Lukianenko after Ночной Дозор Night Watch.

But I´ll put your novel on my wish list.

Bartered for it with a fierce warrior missing a right breast. Cost me two feminum bracelets and a magic lasso but it was worth it.

I got it through the library I work at, who in turn got it from Holt Jackson. Does that screw up your pretty graph or pie chart?

From Amazon - as a wishlisted Christmas present from my sister. Meaning that your next novel will come up as a recommendation for her when she logs in, no doubt baffling her as she'll have forgotten what she bought me. (Not a slur on either my lovely sister or the memorableness of Sax's writings - just the truth of the matter, given that I can hardly remember 90% of the gifts I give or receive and pretty much tend to assume that others are similarly forgetful.)

Shame on you, Mistoffelees. Sax has a wife, two kids, two cats and a cocaine habit to sustain off Hinterland sales. Plus I give him special rates, him being a famous author and all, but I still charge the going rate for an hour of my sexual favours.

@Fat Lee
That bothered me about amazon. But you can open a list, where amazon lists everything you ever bought, and that´s the list they use for their recommendations. You can edit=delete everything (what you bought as a present for example), so you only get recommendations for books you like.

Of course, this is just a sly ruse to find out who's bought it at all. Then Sax will put everyone else on ignore.

Sax - innit? I think it must have been a review copy. Charity shops truly have all the best literature - I managed to fill my entire reading list for this term, (including obscure Thai author) bar one book, from the Kentish Town Oxfam.
