Changing my life by changing the ID3 tags of my mp3s

So, I have this nifty little mp3 player and sometimes the picture of the album appears along side the playing program, and sometimes it doesn't. Apparently to do this, you have to edit the ID3 tag of the mp3 and associate a picture with the mp3.

I can't find a free full-version of a program and that actually works and gets my mp3s all clean, all the same, and very neat looking. I can't stand messy mp3s.

HELP!

What OS are you running?

It would be nice to have such a program. I changed thousands of my mp3s manually.

Windows XP

By the ID3 tags, I mean the information that is not present in the file name, the information I can change using Windows. I mean the information that is hidden and is revealed through ritualistic sacrifice

OK, with the caveat that I have not tried it much beyond giving it a quick once over in the last 10 minutes, how about ID3 TagIT - it's free and can edit multiple MP3 ID3 tags at once - or at least V2.3.4 did OK on some test MP3s I used. The later version 3.3.0 you can download requires .NET, which I don't and probably won't install, so I can't tell if that works even better or not.

Scanning the options in the prog above, what I can't seem to find is a way to alter tags for album sleeve images though. Hmm.

I figured it out. The last time I installed this program, it wasn't that colour and it didn't work. Kept giving me error messages. But now it works. Mystery still exists....

Cheers, everybody.

Ok, perhaps a bit late, but I would recommend MediaMonkey. Among other neat stuff it can grab album pics and tracklists from Amazon in several countries and add them to ID3s or m3us.

The Id3 Tagit or whatever is not working properly. It's not associating the image with the file and I think I'm doing it right.

Media Monkey is working. Thank you.

Not sure on ID3TagIT as I couldn't get it to add images at all... Media Monkey seems to work OK, though it borked at one album cover from Amzon but was fine with another I tested.

OK, figured out why Media Monkey was complaining - the album MP3s (Howlin' Wolf's The Sun Years) has a different tracklist on Amazon to the one I downloaded from eMusic.

Playing about with MM for a little while is proving to be quite fun and useful. Ta Cube!
