When I was a kid, I searched out comics with Scourge in it. He was the masked vigilante that Marvel wrote into mostly Captain America comics so they could neatly kill off 32-odd old and useless Supervillans...
Yeah Baz! And I think they had a contest where you had to identify every villian he killed and you won a no-prize or something.

He was when I was a kid... it took me years to finally track down Captain American #319 where he kills 18 super villans in one panel...

(it's not a very good panel. It's just him saying 'DIE' while firing...)

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy

Work's done! Home again, home again, now off to revise that story.

And rip music off CDs borrowed from work. David Bowie!

Saint Keggers

Mr. Denfeld, that is a VERY disturbing picture. I look nothing like that. NOTHING!

I never really was into Cpt. America, except briefly when I read an issue instead of the assigned text in grade 3 music class.
Yet, strangely, I have numerous issues of Nomad.

The first comics I read (oddly enough) were Marvel Universes, so I had the whole list of victims, and in which issue they were dispatched with nothing but the sound of an explosive bullet going 'pum-SPAK!'...

...ah sweet days.

Good night/morning all, I have to run to class...

Hey! How are you?

Last note on Scourge: His existence was always a bit of a cop-out on Marvel's part. You never saw his face, he was always disguised, and you only knew it was him because of the tag line "Justice is Served.". In Captain America #320 (which I was never able to find), he's killed off by another masked vigilante... and I don't think he was ever referred to again...

It was only when I was older did I realise the humour of it all when it became obvious why he was created (i.e. to kill off old and stupid supervillans)

Funny that you like Nomad, as he became the new Scourge over in Thunderbolts a couple of years ago.

Zoemancer's your typical Temple fair. Little psychos slide under the radar by spouting khaos magik and then "question everything"... looking for inflammatory topics.

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy

Hey Cassie, Keggers, Stoat, Denfield, Baz...

Nomad's still around? WTF? Didn't they kill him or something?

Jack Denfeld
03:45 / 22.03.06
On Nomad, with some Winter Soldier spoilers:

Brubaker had Bucky kill him a few months ago.

Hey Papers,

I have no clue if Nomad is still around. I only got a handful of issues back when his comic started up. I like the idea of a superhero fighting crime with a kid strapped to his back.

Cass- ze's been in Switchboard a while ago, too- funnily enough, defending David Irving's right to deny the Holocaust.

Can I ban people? I'm a switchboard mod (a slight downgrade from my King Mod days), I'm not sure what powers i have.

You were dethroned? Was there a coup? Queen alas now reigns?

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy

Sadly, Mister Denfield, your power's only the lamentable ability to make your fingernails grow at will.

Jack Denfield is like Deathstrike? I do have too many comics...

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy

I was more thinking Meg Griffin.

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
04:03 / 22.03.06
You know, Krueger was by far the most disturbing thing in my childhood, apart from the music to Jaws (I once had an entirely musical nightmare when I was a child). All those burns on his face and those claws...

Sometimes I think I'm a girl. I had no patience for the appreication of horror films, no interest in guns & ammo, and only recently developed any skillz on the court.

I had nightmares, but more lucid... like dead dogs and kidnapping scenarios.

Night Stoatie!

You know, Krueger was by far the most disturbing thing in my childhood,
Wes Craven has said that when he was a child someone who looked exactly like Freddy was pounding on his bedroom window in the middle of the night. That must have been scary.

Cass: Sometimes I think I'm a girl. I had no patience for the appreication of horror films, no interest in guns & ammo, and only recently developed any skillz on the court.

I like some horror. I actually prefer horror stories to films. I'm working on a Rumplestiltskin retelling as a Bayou Horror Story. No interest in guns. Can't be bothered with hockey.

I've fired a bunch of guns. M16-A2, Colt .45, an automatic grenade launcher called a Mark-19. This is all from my time in the Army. I'd never want to own one though, as sometimes I get bored and impulsive and might blow my brains out in a bored stupor one night.

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
04:17 / 22.03.06
I'm fairly thin, and would probably be killed by the recoil of firing a gun.

Jack Denfeld
04:18 / 22.03.06
The rifles have some kind of recoil supressor coils.

Jack Denfeld
04:18 / 22.03.06
Recoil supressor springs I mean.

Jack Denfeld
04:21 / 22.03.06
I believe this is a picture of one.

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy

Slinky!

I think my preferred weapon is a slinky.

Jack Denfeld
04:24 / 22.03.06
I don't know if this is true, but I heard that the yo-yo was originally used as a weapon.
