MISSING: One bald Scottish scribe. Answers to the names of "Grant" and "George".

I was kind of going through the archives, just reading, and I stumbled upon this elusive "WifeGate" incident that I can't find any evidence of other than hearsay. And then I found this, found here:

a couple of years after that, he sent me a testy e-mail for making a flippant comment about him on the board. I verified the e-mail address with his collaborator, Cameron Stewart. Rizla got one, too, I think.

GM's manager and partner Kristan has posted a couple of times, I know that: if Grant lurks, he probably logs in using Kristan's suit.

So I just want to know. Since then, has there been any evidence of ol' George posting here?

Also, can anybody fill me in on the Wifegate details, or better yet, link me to a thread. I can't find it.

[To the mods in the know... considering the board's potential problems with libel... delete this thread if I'm stirring up shit....]

He did have the lovely, cute, chrome super-rat from Bulleteer 3 go "SQUEEE!"

I thought that was kind of funny.

Does anyone have a link to the origins of the whole Ganesh glassin' the cats thing? I've wondered about this...

I believe that was lost in some transfer to a new server or something a few years ago.

Short version: Jokes about glassin' were all the rage for a while, especially among the Scottish-identifying posters, and this unfortunately coincided with a discussion about Our Scribe's cats (ever noticed there's one in every book?), one of which had (if memory serves) either disappeared or fallen ill. I can't recall if that was public knowledge at the time, but the man loves his cats and will defend them against virtual glassings, and thus it became public knowledge shortly thereafter. Plink. Crunch.
