I agree all the Harry Palmer films are excellent (apart from the one with Jason Connery): cool, sharp, clever; and the only Cold War era films I can remember where the Russians are as smart, funny, and (disl)likeable as their western counterparts. e.g. the loveable Colonel Stok (played by Oskar Homolka).
Oh, and while we're talking of great Michael Caine films, let's not forget his top turn opposite dear old Larry Olivier in the classic, 'Sleuth'. |
