Aloha,

I am super happy to have found and been accepted into this community. I currently reside within the body of a 33 year old male living in Austin, TX USA.

I have always been drawn to the "occult" and the supernatural since I was very young. I really cracked my head open a few years back after being initiated into an magical fraternity. Since then I have practiced a kind of freeform, "roll yer own" magic that has turned my life into an amazing and mysterious adventure. Everyday I am reminded of what a "cosmic shmuck" I am(<- thanks to R.A.W. for that euphemism) and that realization keeps me sane.

I own a website design and search engine optimization company er rather it sort of owns me at this point but it pays the bills and my hours are my own.

I am also attending film school. My plan is to sell my business soon to raise capital for my film ventures. My goal is to utilize film as a magical tool/audio video sigil/talisman. I like to think my films will be like mental crowbars that will seek to pry open, dislodge dogmatic ideologies and vampiric memes and so on. Making movies is also wicked fun!

Actually my first film is going to be a run of the mill documentary about a not so run of the mill subject so I can get my camera work, editing and lighting skills down. The subject of this documentary is a sub culture of folks known as Otherkin

Anyone who is knowledgeable about this subject or is in fact Otherkin please contact me to participate.

I am also the inventor of the "Cool Wind Sound". The cool wind sound is a sound I make by cupping my hands together and blowing into them which creates a sound similar to a wind blowing. I have been told that it has a calming effect on those who hear it.

Ok enuf 4 now then. Again I am glad to be here and am looking forward to the fellowship.

Jesus Fing Christ.

Is it part of this "Invitation to Barbelith" thing that new kids are supposed to introduce themselves with posts titled "Introductions"? I mean, that's great, but how about we insert a bit about Barbelith's search funtion?

maybe the Introduction thread should be "stickied", meaning it stays at the top of the page all the time.

I am 'Otherkin.'

But if I talked about it 'they' would attach me 'old chap' to the bleeding Tower of London bridge, mate, and then thuh-row the rest of me over the edge of the side, into the cold and pitiless, dark and brackish waters of the Thames, so you'll forgive me if I'm a bit circumspect about all this, at the present time.

Look out for 'the hand,' is really all I can say.

Look out for the hand.

It's OK don't worry. We have a thread for introductions but it falls down the forum.

Hello to you and welcome.

Can everyone be a bit nicer to new people please? Lets not scare everyone before they've even taken off their fucking coat.

Chad, I know it's a bit irksome when this happens but do bear in mind that on some boards, this kind of post is actually mandatory. As in, if you don't post an intro before you start posting elsewhere, you get banned instantly. Seems strange to me too but there you go.

zoemancer, any other new people, it's great to see you here, but we don't really stand on ceremony. If you feel the need to introduce yourselves, please use one of the existing threads.

Phieu: That's a good idea, but unfortunately our board software doesn't have a facility for sticky topics.

New members might also like to note this thread, where people are invited to link their blogs.

Mordant: Do I need to delete this post and repost in the proper spot then?

Lula: Thanks for the warm welcome, nice to meet you.
