Erm... I quite am getting into Barbe tis a fun place. Why, have there been changes?

Unfortunately after reading through some of the topics in all the sections I'm getting all 'hmm I must change the world but engendering empowerment, access and voice as well as the right of non-involvement in various controlling soc-tech that Western Modernity seems apt force upon its peons... why is engendering got 'gender' in it? hmmm must look into that one'

I generally avoid online (or offline) discussion on sexuality... It gives me flashbacks to a introductory lecture for 'gender and power' at uni where the lecturer loudly proclaimed 'the only real issue in gender studies is homosexuality'... to which i replied

Perhaps he was going to talk about how homo-politics related directly to Feminism and the sub-determinations of masculinity... but in the end he bascially said 'I'm a gay man and therefore know what I'm talking about' with that I took my 2c and put it towards whatever pornography i was into at the time. I mean you can't beat practical experience, which may have been his point too...

If you're interested in discussions of gender and sexuality which don't posit one subject as "the only real issue", but instead cover "Feminism and the sub-determinations of masculinity" as well, then I'm sure you'll find some merit in contributing to existing threads or starting new threads in the Head Shop, rather than avoiding discussions of these subjects altogether, Chief.

...But for the most part I don't really find discussions on sexuality that interesting. Except I have been recently musing over the conundrum posed in 'Barbe pro-gay...'

PDA's wrong in any context?

Happily in love at the moment, I enjoy snogging my partner, but we tend to be a bit discreet about it in public... however if people are a bit drunk and they display love whats wrong with that? on the other hand when you see two people chewing the each others faces off, gay or straight, its a bit... yech. But then why concede anything to society? If you aren't hurting anyone by Dysoning your mate in public does it matter whether you're displaying or sharing affection? anyway... I'm currently giggling wildly over the 'best quotes on barbelith' topic...
