Yay!! Snow!!! It's dusting at the moment, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed for some settling, I must build a snowman. I'm about 30 miles south of London, we don't get much snow here.

Is it snowing where you are? Now, if only we weren't at work...

It was snowing when I left the flat in North London. Now I'm at work in town and it's a low gray sky full of threat.

Andrea on GMTV (or was it Claire?) said it was snow, rain and sleet all over today with highs of four so hopefully this thread will fill up with snow snow snoe (and settled snow to boot!)

The forecast here is just for rain. But then yesterday the forecast was for it to be dry, and I spent the morning pedalling through sleet and then a hailstorm. So anything could happen today.

Fuck no it's not snowing, it's grimy hot.

Poor Denfield - in a hot sunny place while everyone here shivers in the cold. My sympathies.

Snow is fun, hot is yuck.

It's easier to get warm when you're cold than to get cold when it's hot. I hate the summer, it's sticky and hot and stuffy, and you have to work, while looking at the blue skies. I owrk in a college too, so in summer, all I see is people not that much younger than me, wearing summer clothes and lazing on the grass outside my window. Bah!!

The snow here isn't settling at the moment, it's becoming rainier. Poogibs.

I like snow because if it gets a few feet deep you can put on your Stormshadow costume, hide under the snow, and when people walk by you jump out of the snow with your katana raised and yell "Arrrhhhh!" and they try to run away and get scared and slip on the icy sidewalk. Then you walk up to them and say, "Tell Snakeyes he's a dead man!". And then run away.

Just cycled in to work. Snowing lightly when I left Stratford (East London), gradually becoming sleet and finally just sticky drizzly freezing cold rain by the time I reached Whitehall, where it is now just raining.

Think we're going to need snow overnight if anything is going to stick. BBC radio was claiming best snow in North London. So N postcoders - want to taunt us with your tales of powder?

The world of N postcodes was mainly just damp this morning, from what I could see. Damp, soggy, grey.

Got a bit of snow in Eastbourne, but it's not settling. A damn good thing too, otherwise getting home on the bus would be an even bigger nightmare.

You work in *SHUDDER* Eastbourne?

Savage, for the first time in my life, and because I'm thinking of you, I hope to God that it doesn't snow any harder.

It's snowing here in Birmingham but it's not settling either. We should be knee deep in snow by now since it's been falling since eight o'clock this morning.

It's the warmth created by millions of people which stops it.

Curse the people!! It sucks that it hardly ever snows. In my office, the olds have been reminising (<- sp?) about when they were kids, and it would snow all the time.

I wish I was pushing 60... sigh...

The last time I remember it really settling (in East Sussex) was about ten years ago.

Wow, you're from Tunbridge Wells? There are a bunch of us from that area around these parts.

Here's a live webcam shot of suburban Calgary (western Canada). Our city is located in a peculiar little geographical corridor where the weather system often offers us relief from the stereotypical Canadian winter. This has been a pretty mild one, with grass bare concrete as often -more often!- than snow, but just yesterday we got a few inches.

Kipling territory, the little village of Burwash. About ten miles away from T Wells.
I used to frequent the town a great deal during my mid to late teens (the early nineties) as I had a gf who lived in a big pink house perched above the rocks on Mount Ephraim.

Some of my 'lither mates IRL hail live in T wells, Wadhurst, and Heathfield

We'll have to exchange notes Boboss, being a socially incestous kind of place, I wouldn't be surprised if we move in similiar circles...

You bastards. Talking about bloody snow and now it's coming down like angry snow bees outside the lab. Horrible slushy snow that does no one any good. Bah! It's a plot isn't it? Isn't it?
