I have no knowledge of the root of the word, or of the Greek language, but upon researching the word,it is the feminine form of "pure" or "holy," which just makes too much sense to have been a fluke.
It's a woman's name, in itself, as well - specifically, that of one of the the most famous and revered early Christian martyrs, which is derived from hagnos, hagne, hagnon, meaning pure or chaste. Might be worth having alook at her as well, especially if your entity was one of purity... |
