We’re 11 pages in on the last one so here is the all new, all dancing thread.
Rejoice.
Shoe gazing. Something odd has happened, I’ve fallen down some space/time portal to an alternate universe where I’m experiencing the music of the early 90’s as if I was an indie kid and not a thrasher. Weird, but with my love of post rock it was always on the cards. So now it’s wall to wall Slowdive, Chapterhouse, the first Ride album and early Lush, it’s great, great stuff. If only we could get Slowdive to reform.
Canadians. No not a band, I seem to be listening to an awful lot of bands that say “abut”. Stars, Constantines, The Dears and Broken Social Scene, to name a few of them. In fact I’m having an indietastic time of it at the moment.
Flaming Lips: At War with the Mystics. I’ve only heard this a few times but I’m disappointed. I don’t know what I was hoping for but it wasn’t this. Sure, there are some good songs on it, yeah yeah yeah song is great, Free Radical also but things like it overtakes me leaves me cold. *Sigh* It can be safely said, the Flaming Lips are no Super Furry Animals, the baton has been passed. |
